A must of any trip to the Okanagan, the Vernon access road is another gem located in the heart of beautiful British Columbia. Being the last day of the SOS you know people were going to send it.
Nothing gets you out of bed in the morning like jakes rash style pack runs with the homies first thing. With everyone camping out at Stene's Saturday night, there was a good crew ready to get some tight pack runs Sunday before heading out to Vernon to skate access road. With a great turn out at this years SOS the last day of SOS turned out to be one of the best yet.
"I'm just thinking about how fast we just went, and how close we were all to each other and it's fucked. I'm actually vibrating right now."-Tristan Lawton
Send It Sunday
With the sun shining we started off the day skating a road just outside of Lake Country. With a freshly paved bottom half, and corners you can self spot, it's a great road to to get your speed fix. After skating it the day before, the group decided that it was time to see how fast you could get going in a pack. With the one really gnarly section spotted, everyone dropped in for what could be described as a smaller, faster, jakes rash run. After getting a few runs, and being waved at by the most chill cop ever, the group headed out to Vernon.
Just outside of town, overlooking the lake is the Vernon access road. Another SOS staple, access is a closed road with steep sweeping corners, and endless good times. Although some of the group left, there was still quite a crowd for the last day of SOS. We spent the afternoon shredding, and getting the last laughs in before ending the day at the lake to "shower".With another SOS in the bag we packed up for the long journey over the mountains. It was a blast as always, thanks to everyone who came and and made it an awesome weekend! If you missed this one be sure to mark the date on your calendar and join in the madness. Make Gnarly Normal!
